Apollo Systems Contracts was set up by Greg Philpott in 1996 as a software consultancy. Prior to starting the company, Greg spent six years with OSAI A-B (a subsidiary of Allen-Bradley) developing bespoke software for clients in the CNC machine tool sector across the UK and Europe. This was followed by a period developing GUI software for screen printing machines. Greg has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a Chartered Engineer.

The company soon developed a reputation for quality, attention to detail, and innovative solutions. This has resulted in repeat business and long term relationships with our clients.

In 2011 we started developing our own software products, and moved into our present office close to Poole Harbour.

Over the years we have developed software for a wide variety of systems. Some have featured simple 8-bit processors with no operating system, but many have been distributed systems with a mixture of processors, operating systems, and communications protocols. We have developed PC applications as part of a distributed system, and as stand-alone support utilities.

The software we have written for our clients has been deployed worldwide in some of the most remote and extreme environments. For example, downhole and subsea in the oil and gas industry. In these situations it is essential that software is robust and reliable; and this is something we take very seriously.

Embedded Software

The embedded software we develop typically falls into one (or more) of the following categories:

  • Automation
  • Communications
  • Telemetry

We work with clients across a range of industries including:

  • Manufacturing
  • Oil & Gas
  • Rail
